You are looking for someone to build your site and you want to know who you are dealing with before you pay. We are a web development studio in Montréal: a written quote before we start, a date in the contract, and the developer who writes your code is the person you talk to.

What you are actually buying

The real question is not agency versus freelancer. It is what gets written down before money changes hands. A good freelancer can do the work just fine. Here is what goes into our agreements, so you can compare it with what you are offered elsewhere.

  • A written scope, not a handshake The pages, the features, the platform and what is excluded are written down before we start. Anything outside the scope is quoted before it is built, never added to the invoice afterward.
  • A date, not a range The one-page build ships in an agreed 48-hour slot. For the other tiers, the date is written into the quote before work starts.
  • A registered business NexaWebDev S.E.N.C., NEQ 3382557208 with Quebec's Registraire des entreprises. You can check it yourself, and the contract reads under local law.
  • Two partners, not a single point of contact The project does not hang on one person who answers every other evening. The trade-off: we are a small studio, so we take on the number of projects we can deliver.

// how it goes

From the first call to a live site

step 1

We pin down the scope

The pages, the features, the platform, what is excluded. If your need does not justify a big project, we tell you at this step.

step 2

You get a written quote

The amount, the date and the payment split. Nothing starts before you approve, and the price does not move afterward.

step 3

We build on a private link

You see the site before your customers do, with up to three revision rounds for your preferences (one consolidated round on the one-page build).

step 4

Launch and handover

We switch it live when you approve. You leave with the access, plus 30 days of fixes for defects in the delivered work.

// how we quote

A written quote, not a price list

We price each project on a short call, once we know the pages, the platform, the features and what is excluded. You get the amount and the delivery date in writing before anything starts, and nothing is added to the invoice afterward. What you charge your client stays your decision; we never see it.

Scope first

Page count, platform, catalogue size, integrations, languages. The quote covers exactly that scope, in writing, so the number you give your client holds.

The price, on a call

Fifteen minutes with the people who build the site. You leave with an amount and a date, both agreed before you commit to your client.

Always included

Checks on phones and computers, a working form or test checkout, every access handed over, and 30 days of fixes for faults in the delivered work. Hosting, domains and subscriptions are separate and disclosed before you agree.

// what stays yours

The code, the domain and both languages

Four things we like to settle before signing, because they cause bad surprises elsewhere.

  • The code and access are yours Ownership, third-party licences and launch access are documented in your written quote. You leave with the work, not a rental.
  • The domain stays in your name The domain name remains on your account, in your name. We do not hold your domain hostage, and your email runs on records separate from the site's.
  • French is a working language We work in English and French. A bilingual version uses the same layout and your approved translations; the translation itself is not included in the package.
  • Law 25 handled, no forced monthly plan Quebec's Law 25 is handled by default, with a consent banner built the way the law requires. After delivery, you owe nothing recurring unless you want to.

// faq

What people ask before hiring us

What is the difference between a web agency and a freelancer?

The useful difference is not headcount, it is what gets written down. With us you get a written quote with the scope, a date, the amount and what happens if the scope changes. NexaWebDev is a general partnership registered with Quebec's Registraire des entreprises under NEQ 3382557208, with two partners, so the project does not hang on one person who answers every other evening. A good freelancer can do the work just fine; what you are buying here is a written framework instead of a handshake.

Who actually works on my project?

A developer, directly. NexaWebDev is a small studio of two partners, and the person writing your code is the person you talk to. There is no account manager between you and the work, and your project is not resold to a stranger. That is also the honest limit of the model: we take on the number of projects we can deliver, and if the calendar is full we tell you instead of keeping you waiting.

How does a project run, step by step?

Four steps. First we pin down the scope: the pages, the features, the platform and what is excluded. You then get a written quote with the amount and the date, and nothing starts until you approve it. We build on a private link only you can see, with up to three revision rounds (the one-page build includes one consolidated round). Then we launch when you approve, and you leave with the access.

How does billing work? Is there a deposit?

Yes, in two parts. For the one-page build, a deposit reserves the slot and the balance is due on approval. For the other tiers, the payment split is written into the quote before work starts. Every amount is in Canadian dollars, before applicable tax. Hosting, the domain name, subscriptions and paid visuals are separate and disclosed before we agree, never added to the invoice afterward.

What happens after launch?

You get 30 days of fixes for defects in the delivered work, and fixing a defect does not use up your revision rounds. There is no mandatory monthly plan: if you want nothing more after delivery, the site is yours and you leave with the access. Maintenance or additions you ask for later are quoted separately, when you need them.

Can we meet in person in Montréal?

We mostly work by email, phone and video call, because that is what moves a site forward fastest. Our business address is 770 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest in Montréal. An in-person meeting can be arranged if your project really calls for one, but we will not push one on you to close a sale: most projects scope out very well in writing.

Do you work with clients outside Montréal?

Yes. Montréal, Laval and Longueuil are our home area, and we work across Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Nothing about a website requires being in the same city as you. What proximity really changes is the time zone and the working language: we answer during local hours and work in French without going through a translation.

Why choose a Montréal agency over an offshore one?

Three concrete reasons. French is a working language here, so your copy does not go through a rough translation. Quebec's Law 25 is handled by default, with a consent banner built the way the law requires. And you deal with a business registered in Quebec, with a contract you can read under local law. If price is your only criterion, you will find cheaper elsewhere; we do not claim to win that comparison.
